Abstract
The naturally occurring diterpenoids beyerenoic (1) and kaurenoic acids (2) extracted from Perymenium buphthalmoides DC., were treated with NaOH and reacted with ZnCl2 to afford two ?4-Oxo tetrazinc clusters (?4-oxo)-hexakis(?2-beyerenate)-tetra-zinc(II) (5) and (?4-oxo)-hexakis(?2-kaurenate)-tetra-zinc(II) (6). Both species were unequivocally characterized and their structures in the solid state determined by single crystal X-ray diffraction techniques.
