Abstract

In this contribution, the inverse optimality problem based Control Lyapunov Function (CLF), known for avoiding the solution of the Hamilton Jacobi Bellman (HJB) equation and the determination of the Bellman's functional, is extended to a class of nonlinear time delay systems. This feature is recovered by combining the CLF framework and Lyapunov-Krasovskii functionals of complete type. The feasibility of the method, which is constructive, is illustrated by considering two processes with transport delays. The simulation results give evidence of the good performance of the proposed controller.
